Rockford Fosgate P3s and r1000-1D

At first I was really unimpressed. The setup wasnt as good or loud as I remember RF 8 years ago when I last had a system. I had to put the gain up to 7 or 8 out of 10 to get any kind of bass. I thought I wired them w/ too high of ohms. I check and it was only 1.5 ohms which the amp was only rated at 2. So that wasnt a problem. I checked the output of the RCAs on my cheap deck and it was only 2 volts coming from them. I upgraded to an Alpine 123 h/u, which is a much better deck and also is 4v from the RCAs. That made a little difference. I was just going to deal with my purchase and chalk it up as a loss. Then all of a sudden, after a break in period Im guessing, bass was hitting very hard and I could turn up the sub volume louder than I could before without distortion. It sounds like 2 totally different setups after 3 weeks. The amp is running half an ohm less than the rating and NEVER even hits room temperature. Its cold, not warm, not cool but cold to the touch. Amp is awesome and very small, like 7''x11''. In the end I may have purchase different speakers if I could do it again but I am super satisfied with the amp and it isnt a bad setup for the money.

How do you like the P3s? what type of box do you have ported or sealed? What hz is your box if ported? I like mine and I might get 2 more with a larger amp.

I like the P3's AFTER the break in period. I would suggest waiting until the 2newer speakers are broke in before really pushing them. I have them in a sealed box because I didnt want to take up the space. I am happy with them.
