SSA Gcon photos

We are almost ready to go on the Gcon. Here are just a few initial pictures of what a production Gcon will look like.

it may just be the angle of the shot but in the last pic the sub looks like it could pass for a shallow. Can't wait till the are released.

It appears to be a 10" sub. If you check the 3rd pic down in his first post, you'll find it's got at least a 6" mounting depth. Plus a pole vent so add another inch for it to breathe. :)

Going by the price difference between the Dcons and Icons, I'd hazard a guess these will be around $200-220 for a 12. Might be some competition for the SA-12 if they are a little better. :)

well this just add to the list of many good woofers I can choose from which is both good and bad but I would not getting 3 10's and be one of the few on here to run SSA.

I would as well have to agree with you that this could give the SA a run for its money as last mentioned its for the people looking to go inbetween the icon and the dcon.
the sentence was something alone the lines of "it will be for the people throwing to much power at the Dcons but dont want to buy the Icons"

Pricing should land in that general area, we will state final pricing once everything is all ready to go. :)

That is kind of the goal, a Dcon/Hybrid. The Icon is very expensive to build, some quite pricey CNC machine work goes into the Icon motor. That mean's we cannot sell the Icon on the cheap. The Gcon spans the gap between the Dcon and Icon nicely and will reside in that very busy power class, but with a 3" coil and will be made in Las Vegas. ;)

Price will be a definite selling point specially if they can bring it down to around $150, I'm actually in the market for a 2 12, hopefully this is on my price range

As he said above, it'll be around the $200 mark. No way they'll go cheaper than that since their dcon is near $150.

I'm just saying there are a lot of people that will not experiment on a $400 pair of subs, but might do with $300 a pair or less.

If your experimenting then buy CVR's..... Are you trolling??

when every other sub in ssa's lineup is highly touted, and the sub in question offers some upgrades from the sa12, think 3" coil vs 2.5" coil, that question certainly answers itself.

and i agree with sri, youve made quite a few useless posts in dead threads already today. sounds like trollin to me

There will probably be a pre-order sale to get people buying and reviewing them but I doubt they'd go for much less than $180. The "typical" consumer isn't going to buy these because they are made by a little known boutique brand. The average consumer will buy alpine, kicker and JL because they recognize the name. And they will get less quality and less sub for their money. Anyone who knows SSA will look at the TS specs on these and say "Hey, these are more oriented toward the goal I'm after than the SA's" and they know they are getting quality backed by knowledgable customer service.

I dont like the word "harsh", rather "structured"...... The wording in which you provide your thoughts dictates a sense of resentment towards the manufacturers price, IE:I'm just saying there are a lot of people that will not experiment on a $400 pair of subs, but might do with $300 a pair or less.
So yes "nice subs" would have been a good reply...

Why is the Gcon words green and not red? Is the sub eco friendly? :p

It is interesting what brand name does to pricing and perception.

We have never done a pre-order on our products, and don't plan to. We don't like taking money on our own products before they are actually ready to go, and we do not like destroying the value of the product before it has even started shipping, effectively shortening the life span of the product. With us, the price is the price, not a mega mark-up that needs to run high discounted sales all the time.
