Question (1) 12'' Solo X vs. (2) 15'' L7's

I know i kinda already had a thread close to this, but it was only comparing 1 solo x 12'' to 1 15'' L7.......sorry....now i want to know if anyone has any thoughts at all about 1 12'' solo x(D2ohm), compared to 2 15'' L7's(D4ohm)..powered by a MA audio 802sx at one ohm, in a ~3ftcu sealed(which is still in spec)...and in a trunk of a miata..i know, i know.."a miata"..but oh well, its all i can afford right now(cheap on gas)..sorry about starting another thread, i just dont want to make a wrong decision...thanks in advanced

the l7's will pwn the solo x and you wont have to spend soo much on amps just to get it close to the l7's

Dude, how about you just go with a 15" solo x? Or maybe even an 18"?

1 10", 12", 15", 17", 18" sub can get louder then multiple sub combos with the right install and power. It isn't going to sound good though since you will have to tune high and use a SPL oriented sub. With multiple subs you can get louder with less Power and a lower tuning freq.

In my opinion 2 15" L7s are louder than a single 12" solo x.

Question Re: (1) 12'' Solo X vs. (2) 15'' L7's

well, i have changed what i want to do anyways......i am going to steer away from kickers, and go with 1 15 '' Fi BTL with all options in a 3.5ft^cu with about 50sq'' of port area...and push it with a MA Audio 802sx..hopefully that will be loud, and eventually it is coming out of the miata and going into a grand cherokee

Question Re: (1) 12'' Solo X vs. (2) 15'' L7's

back to the original ?....

I know how you all say cone surface are.

2- L7 15" = 30" with 1500 + watts total depending on sealed or ported
1- Solo X 12" = 12" with 2500 watts total

Why would 2 15" with 500 - 1000 less watts be better? I didn't see any of the L7's push as much air as the 12" solo x in any of the videos.

just because the size of the sub is 15 " doesnt mean it has a cone area of 15" you dont double it here is a link to the cone area of ROUND subs

Just to throw this out there as another option you could go with 2 fi ssd 15 inch subwoofers instead of the 1 btl. in the 12 inch challenge they were that much worse and using the 2 15s will make a difference

Yea i have a btl running of a herc it is not fully loaded as i am not putting enough power to it to see a gain from the 3rd magnet and others. all i have on it is the full cooling option. It is in a hyundai tiburon in a box right now that is too small i am working on building a bigger one. Right now it only got metered on the tl at 142dbs i am hoping to get closer to 145 with the new box
