Note these scores are to be used as a referance only to other drivers that were tested in this test. I can make a driver do a 150, but this box was built to be most like most spl applications out there today.
doing a 143.7 sealed on the dash in a 2 cube ported box with 2 4 inch aeros tuned to 50 hz peaking 52 hz with approximately 1800 watts. With this amount of power the coil temperature raised quickly and the sub approached mechanically limit

JimJ's Cargo Van in a 1.8 cube sealed box with around 800 watts of power
the subwoofer played accurately and did well in upper frequencies. The bass seemed to be lacking in the lower end, compared to other drivers such as the mag this subwoofer reminded me of the sound of the q in the sealed box ) The low end was there, but not as i would like. I'll let JimJ post his results in here thouroughly
2 cubes ported in a Trunk Car with approximately 800 watts of power
This subwoofer enjoyed the ported box alot more than the sealed. I must say i was pleasantly surprised low end output of this driver in the ported box. IMO ported is the way to go with this driver. But meh im a SPL nerd.
Im awaiting doing more testing in the trunk car for SPL results hopefully i can get some numbers for you tomorrow out of the trunk car.
Id like to thank RD audio for the opportunity to test this Speaker and it lived up to the expectations i had for it
rd is lookin like a strong company, and i cant wait to get some cash and play with some alphas

, our SPL testing in the Integra got us a 147.2 in about 2 cubes with a flared slot port sealed up at the dash. Good to see the testing finally got done, and I hope to get a new alpha to you as soon as possible.
They have a 50 ounce larger magnet structure, 10mm longer coil wind, as well as a new rounded backplate that added to mechanical strength. We are getting 38mm 1 way linear travel and 72mm total excursion with a 20mm top plate.
Seems with that much excursion they would do nice in a sealed application also.
we just got thermal testing done on the new Alphas, and the results were outstanding, the glue did not begin to fail until 585 degrees, and the hot forged steel backplate helped with flux dramatically. The new test was slightly different from the last one we ran, we ended up with 74mm total excursion and 35mm 1 way with the 20mm top plate. I wanna get some unbiased testing done on these as well, if your interested contact me and i will see what i can do.
All i know ill have people going damn when im done with my set up, Evan dont you agree!

agree Caylor, to respond to nick, that test is correct, and nick is correct about the flange, but the numbers are real. The coil is 20% exposed at 35mm of excrusion. It is still more than 80% in the gap, the new coil is 10mm longer than the orignal wind. I want people to test these drivers and I stand behind what I say as always. Our Spyders won't stretch at full xmax and sag as alot of other peoples do, that comment was not directed as a bash to any other company on the market. With the limitations of the 12 spoke basket, we are currently developing and testing new baskets that will allow our linear travel to increase even more.
Have you ever, in your entire life, worked with the 12 spoke basket? I mean, I know you say you have, but then you make claims that are really quite impossible with that basket, leaving me inclined to believe you have no idea what "the limitations of the 12 spoke basket" are.
How far in the rearward direction can this miracle of modern science travel? At what point does the cone actually hit the spider landing? Here's a clue: at a lot less excursion than you are claiming. If you are in fact capable of 35mm linear in one direction (and based on the 12 spoke basket, it HAS to be in the forward direction), then at best, you have achieved 63 mm of linear excursion...at BEST.
BTW, since when did 80% of the coil in the gap become considered the standard for measuring Xmax? Here's a clue: it's not.
Tell you what: if you verify 35mm of linear travel OR the 74mm one way via Klippel, I will reimburse you amount for testing. That's a good opportunity for you if you're correct, but you're not, so I doubt you'll go that route.
74mm total excursion and 35mm 1 way with the 20mm top plate
that sounds like implying 74 mm xmax.

You have been warned about this. It has nothing to do with you. Like I said, All you are doing is making matters worse for CASEY !
is this who you want to buy an alternator from?? think about it.
No ones shading any truth. Read all the other posts ive made, It says 18mm xmax on the new driver. 35mm one way excursion from resting coil position and 74 mm total excursion.
I'm done defending something that I have on paper, people will draw their own conclusions about a product. As always i challenge anyone to put any driver up in the same price or class range as one of our drivers.
How about an atomic APSPL?
Oh wait, thats right, I can get atomic stuff incredibly cheaper than RD.
