the bigger subs have a set screw wiring block for ur speaker wire and is big as hell. i use 8 awg on the sub its self and the screw down terminal on the box will take 8 awg. it might be over kill but i figuer bigger the mo power it will send without a restictive smaller wire.

larger wire equals less resistence in my book. i use about 6feet of 8ga wire and get .1-.2 ohms change with resistence compared to .5-1 ohm difference with smaller lengthed and gauged wire. so when you have to have the exact loads on the amp and have enough power to feed it id go with larger wire everytime with everything car audio.

I use 8 AWG speaker wire. And Icecreamman I can assure you no speaker wire you have ever used has a resistance of 1 ohm. That is unless you were using 32 AWG wire or something. And 8 AWG wire has an average resistance of .000629 ohms per foot so you aren’t going to see .1 ohms of resistance with it.
