Default need help finding a sub.

my buddy and i just finished up putting a sub in his car. i put an audiobahn alum12n sub and an audiobahn a18001dt amp. now the problem is the amp has too much Power for the sub and it's bottoming out. i was wondering if anyone makes a sub that is a fairly shallow mounting and can handle alot of power about 1000RMS or more. and that can actually handle that power because the alum12n says it is supposed to be able too be there is no way that is possible.

i have a box that is 1.5 cubes and a mounting depth of 6" absolute max. and like i said i'm planning to run around 1000-1500 RMS depending on the wiring of the sub of course. can anyone help me?

and i know that everyone hates audiobahn and it is junk but my buddy loves the amp and he is keeping it. so please don't bash on it to bad.

well whats the budget?? i mean you could get an SI Mag....or even go the route of an FI bl or something along those lines. But the mounting depth is an issue. Im not sure on the mounting depth of those. You could always rebuild the box

my budget is $200-$300 or alittle over. rebuilding the box is a possiblity if i need too. we could probably get up to around 2-2.5 cubes if i rebuild the box with the room we have to work with.

the box is sealed yes. but if i need to rebuild the box it will probably be ported.

6" mounting depth is pushing it. just make the box for the sub. mabey like 10" deep and your options are endless.

You might not necessarily have too much Power for the sub. If you have bass boost up and are clipping the signal, you may bottom out. I remember when I had my SSD 18 on about 500 watts (it was the flatwind, so it could take 1100 no problem) it bottomed out all the time. Turn down all your bass boosts (cd player, amp, eq, etc) and see if the problem persists.

i turned the bass boost all the way down and it was still doing it.

i can rebuild the box if i need to. i did some refiguring and i can get a box that is 14 X 14 X 35" in his trunk. so i would have about 3 cubes before displacement. can you guys help me with this with these new figures.
