i was wondering what do you guys think would get louder. ive had 1 18 btl for a while and want to upgrade... my Power will be a sundown 3000d and kinetik 2400 big 4 iraggi 240 alt all i already have installed.

so will 2 18 bls fully loaded get louder than 3 18 fi ssds at a frequency at around 29-32????

and has anyone with FI tried an fi ssd 18 in a sealed enclosure yet????\

I dont know the answer to your question but here's one for you.....

If there were 2 hot girls ready to play boom boom or 3 hot girls ready to play which would you take......????

if you run the SSDs sealed, the BLs are going to step all over them in a proper ported enclosure

well, to make it fair it would have to be 2 pornstars vs 3 retired hookers (and not by choice)

I'm guessing it depend on how your box is design. 3 18 BTl would definitely be loud but probably need a bigger box if you wanna get loud. That alot of power you running there.

teh thing you need to look at is teh Power you have.. you said that you have one sundown 3000d... that amp will only put out so much power... i say go with the two then get another amp when money is right... you always think bigger is better but its not... i had 2-10in dds and i had a pos amp on it and did a 140.. so i got money and got 4-15in ss splx and guess what i only did a 138.. and the subs would get hot cause the subs want power and the amp dont have it and it would clip it was terrible..

so the question is do you want 2 ok chicks or you want 3 smokin hot chicks with aids?

No one can answer that. There are too many variables.
But I would honestly takes the 2 BTLs. Not only can you wire them to a more optimal ohm load(1 ohm), You can also get away with a smaller box due to their powerful motors(and the low Q and vas that accompnies that)

This leaves you more room for a larger port, which will cut down on turbulance and hopefully be louder.

The three SSDs will need to be wired in such a way that doesn't void the amps warrenty, (1.666 ohms likely) and in which case they will only get 800W each tops. Thats fine, they don't need more than that. So you lose power, gain cone area...

So all in all, I'd take the 2 BTLs fully loaded. 29-32Hz is really low, but with an enclosure tuned to 33Hz it should be no problem for the BTLs.

Besides later on you can upgrade and do 2 SAZ3000s per BTL.

IM GETTING 2 18 BLS OR 3 18FI SSDS WHICH ARE RATED AT 800RMS.

WTF ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT. BLS ARE RATED AT 1000RMS, WHEN I WILL BE RECIEVING AT LEAST 1300 EACH SUB... AND SSDS ARE 800RMS SO ILL BE GETTING AROUND THAT POWER. AND CAPS MEANS IM YELLING

my reason is that i figured 2 18 bls would get louder than 1 btl 18.. dont you think.. i currently wanted a little step up without upgrading my amp and electrical. my electrical is quite stable for 1 sundown 3000, but 2 sundowns and id think about getting a couple more kinetiks which i have no room for in my ext cab pickup.. i have about 11cubes total after woofer,brace and port displacements and i heard a bl and to tell the truth gets almost as loud as a btl with half the power... thanks alex.
