Default Painting sub?

Can you paint the cone of a subwoofer? my cone has a lot of scratches on it and i wanted to change the look too. Its a polypropaleen (i cant spell) cone. If you can what type of paint should i use?

air brush it on very thin, it will change every thing about the sub if you use too much

uhm... the wet kind?

nah.. just get some Krylon Fusion from lowes or something and spray it down.. fusion sticks to just about everything

oh yes.. and if there are a ton of other paints next to the Krylon, check them and see if they specifically say "sticks to polyeurethane" If so, and the fusion doesn't.. get the krylon fusion

it will change TS parameters of woofer, sensitivity will go rapidly down

It wouldnt change THAT much. but it will make a difference. Spray paint wont matter much, but any thicker paint may add alittle weight that possibly can affect the SPL of the driver, i really doubt 3dB though. But will affect the T/S parameters, but your motor strength and subs design will ultimately determine yours sub's performance loss.

Not really. You can paint it just fine, it just won't look very nice unless you get it anodized and you can't do that when its already installed into the frame.

Paint wont make any difference... the weight of spray paint is insignificant.

Piece of paper > the weight of the paint.
