I do not think the gpv will handle 1300 - 1500 watts.

type r's all the way! =P
i hear awesome things about the t600's also, i almost got me a pair of the 15's due to how cheap they are and edd swears up and down they are louder and have better sq then the type r, but he is a seller just like sic sells maxxsonics so its hard to tell if its the truth. But edd says if you send him a sub he will test it up against the t3 sub counterpart, ex. t200 vs kicker comp, t400 vs cvr, t600 vs type-r, t1000 vs cvx etc

nope they wont... but they do not need to to stay with the R's...

ask anyone that has a clue that has used em like Profundus.. they will stay right with an SA12...and do it on less Power

efficiency is the key..type R's need 1000 watts to get as loud as a GPV does on only 600...and the GPV will take 900 pretty well

I have a Build log on here for a cancer survivor that is flexing the rear glass HARD on only 1000 rms to a pair of them...

X2 on this, type R takes a good bit of power but isn't very efficient

thanks, but I am going with the rockford p3s. I also saw the setup sic did on youtube and it was fair. I also watched a video on the p3 by a kid in a caddy named bigcaddy something. those were impressive. on one video he had one p3 on a kicker 750 and it beat those pair of crunch subs hands down. I did like those T3 t600s though.

YouTube - ‪MrAcuralvr's Channel‬‏ those are my Hifonics hfi subs YES the cheap ones tuned to 27 hz(sic made a miscalculation) and they out do cvrs , p1's, p2's , just about most of the same higher end subs in thier class because its actually set up right on the correct power

really? your choosing p3's? type r's will beat p3's, gpv's are good for low power, but if you want all around quality and bang for your buck, sa12's are the ticket, we put 6k into a sa12 the other day and the coil was fine, the box controled the cone enough that we started to fold it, but it didnt quite control it enough to keep the coil from jumping the gap, when it did that it ripped the coil former in half, but the coil was still pretty and shiny new. hit me up if you want the hook up on some sa12's that will shat all over the p3's

man i hate to be jumpin on the bandwagon here, but sa-12s an mainstream subs are not on the same level, price level,
but why buy a sub thats mediocre compared to sundown,
my wife gets mad at me everytime i ruin a pair of subs from overpowerin, clippin them or whatever im doin wrong, she said if your gonna spend money like this just get sumthin thatll handle it lol, little does she know what the price of a high end sub is,
so anyways its only subs that have recone kits available for me from now ,

Default Re: Alpine type r 12's or rockford p3 12's

So you're going with some P3's after watching some vids? If you're talking about how loud it sounded on your computer speakers, you're fooling yourself right out of some better subs.

sa12's are cheap to recone and can take some serious abuse, if you throw 1000 watts clipped to a type r, or a p3 it will die in a hurry, if you throw the same clipped 1000 watts at a sa12 it will live about twice as long as either of the others, and you can recone the sa12 instead of buying a new sub when you do blow it. it will cost you alot more to have type r's or p3's reconed then the sa.

Choosing the inferior sub man :/ sa12 or type r both wouldn't even waste its poop to take a dump on p3s
