Default Low end SQ rockford p3 12s Hifonics BRZ1200 amp

I have a 95 Honda Civic, trunk is leaky so I've got 2 p3 12's in a prefab ported box with a Hifonics BRZ1200; running at 1 ohm. I've noticed the range on the low end is sort of limited, what's my problem? Will a custom box help? Or maybe I need to increase the ohmage

Hey there, sounds like the subs arent housed correctly. Design a box to the manufactuers standards, prefabs are a hit or miss usually. Your.drivers will.perform to their full potential if yu givee em the right enclosure. Lots of guys on here would whip you up a design that you could easily out together yourself.

Another thing that might cause the low end to dissapoint is that all of your gains are set, & you tune your h/correctly which is sometimes tough withaa prefab.. Goodluckˇˇ

There is no such thing as low end in a prefab box. They are typically tuned in the 40s to peak very loudly. Designing a new box would definitely help. Other things worth noting would be your electrical system. 1200 watts is definitely too much Power on a stock Honda charging system. Those older civics have notoriously poor charging systems, and you are probably losing a lot of power because of it.

What CXA said. They're tuned waayyy too high and do not have enough volume either. I've actually measured one and ran the numbers before. I'd run those subs 1.1 cubic feet sealed per sub plus sub displacement. It would sound good and get the low end response you wanted.

P3's are good subs. A custom enclosure is needed though.

Yep 98Civic had issues with the charging system not wanting to charge over 13.8V. Why? ELD limited it to that voltage to improve gas mileage. Honda's not the only one who does it. Simple fix by adding a switch, and a 800 ohm load. Fools the ELD to put the charging system into HO and now runs 14.4V.

Anyway OP your charging system, I would say, would be good for 700-1K being the high side. That's with at least new wiring up front.
