Default Blown subs?

I had (2) 12Ē SVC Infinity Reference woofers in a sealed 1.25cu ft Q-Logic box powered by (2) bridged Profile AP2000 amps. I know I wasnít going to win any contests but when I put Young Jezzy in the deck, it rattled my truck. (2005 Ford Explorer) I figured that if I get better woofers and more Power I could really do some damage. So, I bought (2) MTX 7512-44 and a Hifonics BXi2006D. I have 2g Wire from the battery to the back of the truck. 4g with a 100 amp fuse to the Brutus. I wired the speakers to 2 ohms a piece and connected them in parallel to the amp.(1 ohm) And the box is now ported, tuned to 34 Hz. Now, maybe I donít have some of the settings on the amp correct but Iím only getting approx. half the bass I was getting before. (OK, not half, but not what I think I should be getting)When the bass drum hits, it feels like someone kicked me in the back, but I donít get the body shaking LOW LOWs. Do you know what the problem could be?

Also, a funny (electrical) smell was coming from my voice coils. I pulled the speakers and checked them. The cones move freely (no binding or scraping) and each voice coilís resistance is around 3.9 ohms. Are there any other tests I can do to see if theyíre blown?

Iím at my witís end. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. I'm on my way to work but will check when I get back. Since you took the time to read it, please leave a response.

Well, if you have your Sub's wired down to 1ohm, your amp would be putting out (around) 2000wrms. Each sub is rated @ 400wrms, so both of them would be 800wrms. So if you feed the bxi-2006d's 2000wrms @ 1ohm into both of the MTX 7500's, then you PROBABLY cooked the voice coils.

Adding another sub in parallel for lower ohms won't put any more load on each sub, just your amp. The watts will be split across each sub. It's probably your box being ported is why you're noticingthe differences. You get better power handling at your tuning frequency and sacrifice the bottom lows. lows are actually dangerous for a ported box because your sub will have too much excursion as if it were free-air.
