Get a better amp, that amp is not 2 Ohm stable like it claims it is. We have a shop locally that started selling that specific model and all the ones that were sold were returned back and later then the shop drop that model. Do a search on that model and you will read nothing but badd reviews on it.

i was looking at these reviews n it looks fine?

http://www.pcworld.com/product/userr...erreviews.html was it maybe just that batch of amps?? wat year model was it? if this amp does work.. would it be good for the sub?

I have that amp and have had it running at 2 ohms since I bought it, never had a problem.

aznboi3644 03-08-2007 06:51 PM

I've had the 9102D before and ran it at 1 and 2 ohm...it did fine at 2 ohms...never shut down on me.

when I ran it at 1 ohm it would shut down if the gain was cranked too high but that is a given...but if set respectively it handled 1 ohm pretty good...got pretty hot though but I gave it plenty of room to breathe

SoundDesignMaster 03-08-2007 07:28 PM

It could of been a bad batch or something but since my friend bought that same model he also had to return it since it could not handle a two ohm load and it would get really hot. I havent gone back to that shop but im pretty sure they still dont sell them the owner was pretty mad the day we went to return it due to the fact that allot of those were getting returned and he was obviously loosing money.

alright well il get the sub and amp... so now can people PLEASE tell me how this will perform??? type r 12"+ kenwood 9152d + 1.9cubes ported.. wb thanks heaps! how loud? how much sq?

Joe00es 03-08-2007 08:01 PM

1.9 cubes ported is a little on the small side

try 2.5 if u can

mossyboy 03-08-2007 08:05 PM

ahh yer i no. though i already have this box from an old sub... will it still go good??

aznboi3644 03-08-2007 08:20 PM

it will be fine

mossyboy 03-09-2007 03:33 AM

how many db's do u recon it could do??

95bat 03-09-2007 07:38 AM

I'd say about 4,000.

mossyboy 03-09-2007 01:08 PM

any serious answers that could help me?

Joe00es 03-09-2007 01:12 PM

130's

the box is obviously less than ideal in every aspect

and the amp is a lil shady

mossyboy 03-09-2007 01:26 PM

thanks joe.. does putting polyfill or substances like that make the box seem bigger then it really is?? should i put some of that in the box? how muich difference would it make?

Joe00es 03-09-2007 01:28 PM

just get a custom box made from members here on ROE

Corey Anderson offered to build me a custom ported box awile back for like $80 + shipping, theres good prices if you look around, and theyre way better then any prefab stuff

do 2.5 cubes net @ 35 hz and it'll be wangin

and find a better amp if you can, even a BX1206D would work and power it good

mossyboy 03-09-2007 01:31 PM

alright ill try this setup first.. then if its not what i expected then ill go n get a custom box.. thanks for your help mate

You made some respectable points there. I looked on the internet for the issue and found most people will go along with with your website.
