Default Sundown NeoPro-8 and 10s in stock !

100-watts RMS 8s / $99 each from authorized dealer
200-watts RMS 10s / $115 each from authorized dealer

Frequency range is ~80-5000 Hz on these -- the bottom end crossover point depends largely on how much Power is ran to them.

8 ohm coils for large setups where you would be connecting 4 per channel to an SAX-125.2 or SAX-100.4 or 8 per channel on an SAX-200.4

These drivers are extremely light and relatively shallow so will fit in many locations easily and also will not weigh down doors with large quantities of drivers as bad as ferrite drivers.

Standard Madisound grilles should fit them -- we will test it shortly.

are those the thin paper cones or that compressed paperish cones like you see in most subs?.....Im worried about being in doors opening the door when its raining and the cone getting a little wet.

YouTube - NeoPro-10 Playing on 100.2

Quick video... my caption :

"We also measured Power to be between ~40 and 80 watts during the video... the camera microphone is distorted badly when close to the Speaker so I backed up in the video so you can see distortion is quite low in reality; my hand-held camera simply doesn't have a great microphone on it. I was wearing ear-plugs in the video as it was so loud. Also -- we had no baffle on the driver so some cancellation is present -- on a baffle output will be greater. Obviously we will do more videos later... this one was just the first unit we took out of the box to mess with from production."

I'll get to other questions later.

Default Re: Sundown NeoPro-8 and 10s in stock !

Had a few people ask about x-max -- linear x-max by 70% BL is 5mm one-way (10mm p-p) with 12.5mm of total clearance allowed in the motor. The coil can move 11.5mm before exiting the gap so it has a bit of extra clearance in there.

We played for quite some time on our 100.2 bridged on the 10" and had it smell hot and abused the heck out of it... could not thermal the 10" driver. When I cut it down the coil was mint -- so I am very pleased thermally.

The 8" has a smaller coil which is why it is rated lower for reference.

I'll get some more specs up once a few people get them installed The plan is to send them in for a better FR graph than what I have now as well done at am American facility.

The cone is moisture resistant but should not be drenched in water -- I suggest something like this in an open door install where direct water may be a concern :

Amazon.com: XTC 8" Foam Baffle Pair: Electronics

I'd suggest the same for any paper cone driver of any sort -- in my experience even the best paper cone car audio mids don't like direct water contact.

You would want to cut the back out so the driver is still IB but the foam will shield from direct water. Have used those many times

How would that protect the front of the speaker? someone mention to use the spray to waterproof your shoes on your cones.

The cone of the speaker inside the car shouldn't see much direct water -- if you suspect it will then a grille will keep much of that off :

https://www.madisound.com/store/prod...roducts_id=719

The steel edge will keep top drip off and the fine mesh will keep away all but fine droplets.

My ears are ringing from the pre-orders being tested *laughs*

We'll have to test them on LPF or we'll all go deaf.

Car Audio Classifieds - View Single Post - My NeoPro 10's

"I have had focal, rainbow,MB quart, and alot of other sets of components and these sound just as good but get ten times louder

If u have never had pa mids they have a slight warmer sound then most car speakers and can sometimes sound really flat and vocally mostly because most pa speaker are designed to be in enclosures. But since Jacob designed these to be ran ib these are perfect for car doors. Once u seperate the rear wave from the front (mounting them in a door) they really cone alive and produce very detailed sound. I have my doors sealed up with sound deadened so I have created a true ib environment for the mids. From what I can tell with xover points the Neo pro naturally drops off around 4500-5k and it does so quickly but most tweets should be able to take over from there easily .... all in all some of the best pa mids I have heard

i guess i am gonna test out a couple of these, got in contact with one of your suppliers here local that i had no idea was around here. we got to talking about the plans for my front doors and he said he would let me play with a pair to see what i thought about them he is raving about them so if they are as good as what ive been hearing ill wind up with a pair in my truck.

just had to come on here and give jacob big props for these damn drivers, i heard them a while back, but finally got mine in, i have a pair of 8's in the doors of my jeep getting 300 watts apiece with a 24db/octave slope hpf @ 60hz, the midbass is amazing, they are ****ting all over my exodus anarchy 6.5" midbass' that i replaced with them in the midbass region, and sound amazing well above the 3k 12db/octave lpf i have on them

maybe I missed it but any TS params? pics vids and "OMFG!" descriptions are nice and all, but how about controled testing with real numbers? Other than the FR graphs. Thanks!
