Bassboy is still in the green - This is good
Default 97 Gmc Jimmy

My mom has a 97 Jimmy and the starter went out today, I pulled it out took it down to autozone and picked up a new one. After spending an hour and a half putting it back in the truck dont start. The starter is working fine but I dont hear the fuel pump kick in at all. I have tried unhooking the battery for a while to clear the ecm but that didnt seem to do anything. I checked all the fuses in the drivers side panel, all the fuses were good. I dont know if there is another fuse for the fuel pump other than the one in spot "9" or possible a relay somewhere. If someone knows where it might be or has some other ideas asto why the fuel pump isnt working it would be great, thanks in advance.

There are fuel relays in the glove box. if you open the door, take everything out, they are behind a small plastic cover. Also, make sure that both of the connections are good at the battery.

Connectors on the batt are good, the motor turns over fine. Never once hear the fuel pump kick in when turning the key on though, I will check the relays in the glovebox, I knew they were there but didnt know which one was for the fuel pump (if any). There are 3 in there do you happen to know which one is the fuel pump?

Ill have to check for that aswell, It was late and I was getting frustrated with the truck because after I got the Power Wire back on the starter and went to spin the starter into place the selenoid wire freakin snapped so I extended it 2 inches and put a new ring terminal on it. Plus I was late goin to a friends house over it (almost 2 hours later than I planned). Very easy to overlook things at 11pm when ur upset lmao.

not a fuse box under the hood of my 97 blazer. I am a moderator on blazerforum. It will telo you on the other side of the panel which is the right one. Check voltage on the battery. check for voltage at battery while turning the key. If it drops to below 10v, you have a ground issue. There is also a large fused cable under the battery tray.

Battery voltage is fine, After cranking on it a while after tryin this and that the voltage started to get low so I put my jumper cables on it to keep the voltage up. On the back side of the "tray" on the relays I didnt see a dyagram or anything that said which relay was which. I also called autozone and most the people who work there obviously dont know crap about cars because they told me they cant help me lmao.

on the firewall, there is your horn relay. pull it and then individually pop out the relays in glovebox and swap them. Or it might tell you in the owners guide.
