Default Do you think big rims are "tacky" ???

On the way home. My brother popped in ATL on the flip-out - and while waiting in the Cook Out drive through I noticed how sexy the F-150 "Marcus" Big Boi in the movie drove. I love the look of it IMO very clean and well done. I know others will think different. I have some screen shots but my phones camera sucks in the dark. Here they are anyway.

Do you like this lookin general? I know sometimes it just looks retarded. But I LOVE this F-150.

I think it looks stupid as hell. Personally I'd love to see one of those idiotic machines after the owner hits some road debris that makes the suspension move to it's limit.

18's and 19's look fine on cars but beyond that you can't lower the aspect ratio enough to fit the proper diameter tire in the wheel well and it just begins looking like a parody of a properly drivable car.

well i personally think 22" look okay on cars and 24" are more of a truck size but here in FL you see all kind of crazy ****...it can look okay if you do it rite but in most cases its not practical.

i like big wheels but it all depends on the application. My buddys s10 lays out on 22s and then my other friends Buick Roadmaster is lifted with 24s. both vehicles look rediculous. Ive also heard rumors here in MD that a shop is trying to lay an s10 out on 26s. So with me it depends on the vehicle

Throw a blazer chassis and running gear under one of those cars and slap some 44" mudders on it then it'll look good. Until then it looks stupid as hell.

looks retarted, makes the vehicle handle like a beat up pinto, throws off the speedomoter, brakes and proper gear ratio. But some(one in a ten thousand people) who fix all these issues and have the right suspension height look decent but 22 is my personal limit. I have factory 20'' and they look right for my ss, i would never go bigger because for the vehicle to ride, drive and look right it would cost a lot more than just insane amount for rims and tires! Not worth it for me who likes to do things right!!

20"s is the limit for cars and 24"s (sometimes 26"s) is the limit for trucks/SUV's. IMO.

small rims + big tires, like a police car. If your Car doesn't see track time than it doesn't need low profile tires.

Big wheels look good but it too pricey. Would try to avoid huge holes and bump because those damage your wheel and would costs even more to replace. I would go for wheel not too big or small.

I think that it really just depends on the type of car. If its a big car then 22's wouldn't look bad, but if it's a tiny car like a honda fit with 22's then it's just ignorant and dumb. SUV's don't look bad with big wheels, as long as they aren't 30's and need like a 6" lift.

I think big rims look great my 300C on 24s get complements all day from all ages of people, even retired old folks. Now when they get to big they look stupid. like the car below on 40" rims. But, all of the rest of the cars on here so far I like them all.

I dont like them when they look out of porportion with the car or ''stuck out" you know?

Basically big rims like 22's on a car only rock if the car's hot, not those gay arse buick's and oldschool box style cars. EWW.

But throw nice big rims, tucked into the body of a nice sleak hot car... and yeahhh!!

Many local DUB edition Chargers, Magnums, & 300s, a Mopar Boom around here, looks awesome! I've always liked hammers and basic designs, some of the new rims are over done and are poorly matched to body lines & styles. Bb, your 300 is the bomb, elegant, yet simple, an example of how it should be done.

A lot of it depends on the car, barring a select few exceptions, I don't think that the overall wheel size should be changed. Meaning that if you've got stock 16's with a 60% profile, you can do 20's, but it's gonna have to be a 30% profile or less, whereas if you've got a 300c with stock 22's, you can run 24's no problem.

It also depends on the car for me. I wouldn't run a mustang any larger than 18's just cuz it's a sports car and any larger than that will hinder it's performance.
